Sparks and Reno Community Involvement

1. An opportunity for Reed and Sparks High School band students to perform in Longford Ireland might be a reality for some students September 22-28, 2009 providing funding can be secured. The band has raised about $40,000 thus far but more funding is needed to ensure all who want to go, can. You can contribute funds by contacting Dwyane Hollenback, director of bands at Reed High School. The schools address is 1350 Baring Blvd. Sparks NV 89434.

2. Often times the needs in a community are best known during certain holidays throughout the year. However, the needs of the senior community is an around the year need. Here at Nevada Federal Credit Union we will help by being a collection point for new personal toiletries such as shave cream, razors, shampoo, Q-tips, etc to be donated, often, to the senior center at 1155 East Ninth Street in Reno. Your donations will be gladly accepted at either of the Reno or Sparks Offices of Nevada Federal Credit Union.

3. A Volunteer Opportunity Fair is being held on September 12th at the Meadowood Mall from 11 am-4 pm with 20 agencies being represented. If you have ever wondered how you can volunteer and make a difference, visit the fair and sign up - you will benefit from your actions!
