Christmas in July ... Nevada Style

There is nothing about the current temperatures that are reminding of us of the cozy holiday season, but with these sweltering temperatures, comes a need for donations that is just as great now as it is around the holidays. So if you are feeling charitable this hot summer, here are some great resources for you to get involved!

The Shade Tree (shelter for women) has urgent needs and they can be found here: http://www.theshadetree.org/UrgentNeeds.html

HELP of Southern Nevada is collecting bottled water for their HELP2O campaign helping to protect the homeless from the summer heat. Now through August, you can donate bottled water and spare change at two local Whole Foods locations: 7250 W. Lake Mead Blvd. at Tenaya Way and 6689 Las Vegas Blvd. South in Town Square Las Vegas.

Water donations can be purchased in the store or brought in from elsewhere. Once collected, the waters will be distributed to the homeless in Las Vegas. You can also drop your spare change in the HELP of Southern Nevada jars or make a donation online at helpsonv.org

In Reno, you can visit this link to a view a listing of local charities. This link provides a listing of homeless shelters and services for the needy in Reno, as well.

If you know of any charity in need this summer, please email the details to chat@onenevada.org and we will include it in this blog post. Thanks for helping to give back to your local community.
