Prevent identity theft by properly disposing of your personal and confidential documents.

Nevada’s oldest and largest credit union is raising awareness about identity theft while giving back to the community by hosting a free, community-wide shred event.

The Community Shred Day will be held on Thursday October 11, 2012 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Sunrise branch located at 1292 S. Nellis Blvd., Suite C Las Vegas, NV 89142.

Assured Document Destruction will be on-site to safely and properly dispose of personal paper documents. In addition, One Nevada Credit Union will be collecting donations for Street Teens, a local nonprofit organization. Items requested include: pop-top food items including Chef Boyardee, chili, tuna, pork and beans, granola bars and other easy snacks.

One Nevada Credit Union strives to protect the confidential information of not only our members, but also the members of our community. This community event stresses the importance of protecting yourself from identity theft and helps save participants money in a still troubled economy, where shredding services can cost about $.75 per pound.

One Nevada Credit Union Community Shred Day is open to the public, members and nonmembers. Tickets not necessary in order to participate.
